Youth urban unemployment in the marginal urban areas of the city of Cusco faces situations of poverty. This is four times higher than urban adult unemployment. Added to this is the quality of employment for young people. According to Enaho (National Household Survey of Peru), almost nine out of ten workers under the age of 24 have an informal job.
The technical training project that CEDNA offers will develop technical trades and enterprises with high labor demand in young people and mothers with limited economic resources. This, through specific technical training actions that respond to the requirements of the productive sector and services. The courses have a duration of three months; such as assistant-cook, housekeeping, bar and dining room, pastry and business improvement. The project's objective is to develop for young people and mothers their personal abilities and personal skills so that they can get a job, start or improve their business.
In this way, CEDNA was able to position itself in the population and establish strategic alliances with local government institutions and private institutions (NGOs, foundations and companies). Being able to validate a training system for the generation of employment and self-employment oriented to low-income people.
